Press Ganey
Compass Award

To succeed in business means your customers must be happy with the service they receive.  Hospitals are no different.  Since April 2000, Claxton-Hepburn has surveyed its patients to make sure they are satisfied with the care they receive.  From their comments, Claxton-Hepburn was able to identify key areas that patients felt are important.  If in these identified areas unsatisfactory comments were made, the staff worked to make improvements.

Because of the hard work and dedication of the Claxton-Hepburn employees and their willingness to change, patient satisfaction improved greatly.  This improvement earned Claxton-Hepburn the distinction as a 2001 and 2002 Compass Award winner.  The award was received in recognition of outstanding performance improvement in patient satisfaction.  Press Ganey, the nation's leading health care satisfaction firm, which serves over 5,900 health care facilities, make this award annually.  It recognizes health care facilities whose overall satisfaction scores have shown the greatest improvement over the past two years relative to other facilities in their database.  Claxton-Hepburn accomplished this after being involved with Press Ganey for only one year.  Only two awards are med in the category of inpatient services at hospitals with less than 150 beds.  Claxton-Hepburn was one of those in 2001 and 2002.

With and 86% satisfaction rating, the management of Claxton-Hepburn knows that without the efforts of the employees, this achievement would not be possible.  Employees at all levels and in every department contributed to the great improvement The staff of Claxton-Hepburn is committed to providing the community with quality health care and this award shows that our patients are happy with the care they receive.

The Medical Center will continue to survey its patients to ensure the high level of patient satisfaction.  If the surveys identify areas in need of improvement, the staff will work to make the necessary changes.  For more information about the Compass Award contact:
